B.A.R.T NOW DVD

So I have found a lot of footage in my camera from some Bart performers and decided why not make Bart its very own CD/DVD of some its best performers that are seen a stations everyday. This video is a re-creation of the older Now CDs that used to be sold on infomercials.

Of course this is not being made into a DVD or even being sold for that note. Hope you enjoyed some of BART's finest

Fun in the Sun

So for many years now the Ashby Bart Station has put on the flea market every year. Many people come out every weekend to sell and buy lots of vintage and cool toys and also just listen to the live music.

On Sunday May 15th there will be a new Farmers Market opening at the Glen Park Station. The Pacific Coast Farmers' Market Association will be putting on this market every sunday until the end of October. This means that they will be closing down the parking lot at the station to allow the people to walk around and buy some locally produces organic food. The association is well known for is extraordinary food.

There will be about 30 different vendors each Sunday providing different things each week. So if your need a break from finals visit some of the bart stations around for some fun in the outdoors.

SECURITY PLEASE!

Ok so the big news came out just recently that Osama Bin Laden has been killed in his mansion home along with his brother. Osama is the man that is said to be responsible for the United States largest terrorist attack. After searching for this man for almost ten years we finally found and killed him. Now people are wondering if killing him was the right thing to do. Will Al-Qaeda strike back? Is what many people around the world are thinking right now.

Well from here on out, bart will be doing its best to try and protect its riders from any attack happening at their stations. The stations have already increased the amount of security at each stop. Bart will still go about the same precautions, but watch a lot more closely. Bart will need the riders help in reporting anything suspicious. Their are phones on the trains that riders may use to call the operator or they can also just call 911. So try not to sleep so much on bart and pay attention to your surroundings.

Calling all Disgusted Riders

BART is calling any and all riders to come and test out some new seat designs for the new and improved trains. In a recent blog post I talked about how scientist had recently found bacteria on the bart seats, and we aren't talking about some small bacteria. Since the talk about all this bacteria, BART has decided to upgrade their seats so that their riders will actually want to sit down.

But, before changing the seats, the people of BART are giving its riders a chance to test out which seats they think are most comfortable. Passengers will be able to give their input on the different size seats, how much legroom, standing room, and even the layout of the new design. These seat testings will be taking place at some community centers, events, and some selected bart stations.

Concert at Powell Bart

Almost every BART station that you go to there are street performers that perform near the stations. At the Powell station they are very popular for their hip hop dancers that are always out entertaining the cable car riders. They also have the tap dancers that tap away with no shirts. But that is upstairs, downstairs you have the singers and instrumentalist that catch people right as they come up the escalators. After asking a few people where the best performers were, there were mostly answers for San Francisco. Here is a guy that got off of his train unpacked his accordion and put on a show for some BART riders at Powell station.

Bacteria Found on Bart Seats

This is just a little story that all the people that commute by bart should know.

Biologists Find Drug-Resistant Bacteria On BART Seats - News Story - KTVU San Francisco

As a frequent B.A.R.T rider I am sure that any daily rider could have come up with this conclusion about the seats. So if you have always raced to get a seat, you may want to start bringing your on chair like this guy:

Early Morning Party

Early this morning at approximately 6:30 there some strange things going on on bart. First everyone's head turns when they see three bart police speed walking through every car as if they are looking for someone that is causing problems. They quickly make their way through the car. Not even a minute had passed before the bart police had made it out to the next car, when a middle aged man opens the doors to the same car that the police were just in. He walks slowly up and down the aisle suspiciously. When he stops near the door he pulls the biggest bottle of alcohol out of his sweatshirt (it's only 6:30am). He proceeds to ask everyone on the train if they wanted a sip from his bottle and if they had money to give him. After being denied by everyone in that car, the man then walks towards the next car, only to turn right back around so he could disguise himself from the police that were walking toward him. WHAT DO YOU KNOW! That's the guy that they were looking for all along. The bart police took the man's alcohol and him off the train the very next stop.

Tip of the Day: Don't try getting money and offering commuters alcohol at 6:30 in the am on B.A.R.T

Wild and Crazy B.A.R.T

Ok so bart is pretty HECTIC to say the least today. After about seven hours of homework in the lab and a rainy day nothing could get any worse. Well it always gets worse. What is more awful than standing on a packed bart train? Lets see, try standing in a packed bart STATION like sardines. Who ever would have thought that the actual station could hold so many people. What happened is that smoke was coming from the tracks near the West Oakland station at about 5:40 pm. Well this caused a major backup since every train going to the East Bay has to go through that station. So that meant there were no trains going to Pittsburg/Baypoint, Pleasanton/ Dublin, Fremont, or Richmond. Oh well just another day on B.A.R.T

Dancing Maniac

Wednesday is the day that I am able to get on bart earlier than usual, and since it's still early I don't expect to see anything crazy. Well it all started when I was waiting the for my train, which is the Richmond line, and this nice and normal looking guy walked up to me and asked which train he should take to get to his destination. I politely told him which train to take, which also happens to be the same exact train I was taking. Three long minutes later the train arrives and the guy walks onto the train and chooses the seat right across from me, he then takes out his CD player and puts his ear buds in and blast his music. NO BIG DEAL RIGHT? Well that wasn't until about a minute later when he decided to start singing/rapping along extremely loud causing everyone to turn to look at him. Luckily he was getting off in three stops, but then he decides to embarrass himself a bit more but hopping out of his seat and dancing. When I say dancing, I mean he was all over the place. Once the train made it to his stop he ran over grabbed his bag and yelled bye to me, so it made it look like I knew him the whole time. How embarrassing!
